Step One: Initial Consultation, Dental Exam & Diagnostics

Consultation

The first step is to schedule a consultation with our Invisalign dentist. This is your chance to ask questions and discover more about Invisalign aligners. This consultation aims to discuss your treatment goals and determine if Invisalign is right for your needs.

Dental Exam

A dental examination is necessary to assess the orthodontic issues that require correction. During the exam, we check how your teeth bite together and how they are aligned.

We also check your general dental health. You must have reasonable dental health and no issues, such as tooth decay or gum disease, that could negatively impact your treatment.

Digital Diagnostics

We will scan your teeth digitally using a small handheld scanner. The process is quick and painless, providing us with a detailed and precise 3D digital dental impression. Additionally, we may wish to take digital photographs and 2-D dental X-rays.

Step Two: Creating Your Custom Plan & Previewing Your New Smile

Creating Your Custom Plan

Your custom plan is created using ClinCheck, Invisalign’s proprietary software. It allows our Invisalign dentist to analyze your teeth and determine how each tooth must move and in which order, until all teeth are correctly aligned.

Previewing Your New Smile

Invisalign’s ClinCheck software can produce digital images using your diagnostic information. These will show you how your teeth could look if you decide to proceed.

It’s an excellent opportunity to assess if Invisalign will produce the results you desire. We can also discuss any changes you may wish to make to your plan.

Once you are happy with the predicted outcome, we can computer-generate your aligners.

Step Three: Beginning Your Treatment

Your aligners are 3-D printed to follow your treatment plan precisely. They are made from Invisalign’s proprietary Smart Track material.

These precision-made aligners are smooth, comfortable to wear, and easy to use. Once ready, we will show you how to insert and remove them, as well as how to keep them clean.

Complete Support Is Available during Your Treatment

Invisalign is very easy to use, and you should find wearing your aligners is a straightforward process. Wearing them should soon become a habit. If you have any questions, we are always here to help.

We will need to see you regularly during your treatment, typically every 6 to 8 weeks, but these appointments will be brief. They are necessary to check that your teeth are moving correctly, make any necessary adjustments, and provide additional sets of aligners as your treatment progresses.
