Pre-Operative Instructions for Dental implants
Pre-operative instructions for the following dental implants procedures performed in our Midtown implants center:
- All-on-4 Dental Implants
- Denture Implants
- Front Tooth Implants
- Full-Mouth Dental Implants
- Immediate Dental Implants
- Single Tooth Implant
- Zirconia Implants
- The day before your implant surgery, please begin taking any antibiotics and/or mouth rinse we have prescribed.
- Make sure you have filled in any prescriptions for additional pain relief before your surgery.
- Stock up on foods that are soft and easy to eat after implant surgery. Foods that are soft and reasonably nutritious include scrambled eggs, fish, soups, mac and cheese, mashed potatoes and well cooked vegetables. Yoghurt can also be a good choice.
- The night before your implant surgery, make sure you have a nutritious and filling meal. Try to relax and get a good night’s sleep as we will take very good care of you.
- On the day of your surgery, eat a light breakfast or lunch. If you are having IV sedation, please do not eat for six hours before your surgery.
- If you are having sedation dentistry, you will need someone with you to take you home after surgery as you cannot drive for approximately 24 hours after surgery is completed. Even if you are only having a local anesthetic, it can be nice to bring a friend or relative with you to your appointment so they can drive you home afterwards.
If you have any questions about pre-operative instructions or would like to make an appointment or consultation please call our NYC Dentistry Center in Midtown East.
