  1. Traditional Metal Braces

These braces fit on the front of the teeth and are widely available. They have metal brackets that are cemented onto teeth and powered by thin metal wires and elastics. They are durable, cost-effective, and suitable for complex orthodontic cases.

  1. Incognito Lingual Braces

These braces fit behind teeth, on the lingual or inner surfaces, where they are virtually invisible. They have custom-made brackets that are thinner and comfortable to wear, powered by wires. Because the brackets are custom-made, Incognito braces on the inside of teeth tend to be more expensive but can be a good option in specific circumstances.

  1. Ceramic Braces

Ceramic braces feature clear or tooth-colored ceramic brackets, making them far more discreet than traditional metal braces. They can work extremely well under certain circumstances, but the ceramic brackets are more fragile.

  1. Invisible Braces

Invisible braces systems are extremely popular and include Invisalign. These are clear plastic aligner trays that are fully removable and are designed to fit tightly over teeth. Over time, they gradually move teeth into the proper positions.

Invisalign braces are suitable for adults and teens, and they also offer a child-oriented system suitable for children aged 6 to 10.

  1. Palate Expanders

Palate expanders are often used to expand the upper palate of younger children, creating more room for adult teeth to erupt normally. The device is gradually widened and is effective because the jaws are still soft while the facial bones are still growing and developing.

  1. Retainers

Retainers are a vital part of treatment, as they help retain teeth once they have been straightened. They are not generally designed to move teeth, as they are not designed to apply pressure on teeth.

I am very thankful for Dr. Rahmani and what he has done for my gums. I initially came in because I had a gummy smile due to my braces, and I wanted some of the gum taken off. He worked with me to figure out what would be best for my teeth, and I decided to get the laser gum surgery. The entire surgery was painless with very little pain post-surgery, and now my gums look great. I highly recommend him.
